We are strong believers in integrative medicine and the power of acupuncture. Our ultimate goal is to help make your pet feel better and improve their quality of life through a holistic, full body approach, focusing on acupuncture, laser therapy, herbals and nutraceuticals/supplements.

Dr. Ashley Elia received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesleyan University, in Middletown, CT in 2004 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduating from veterinary school she moved east where she worked full time in general practice in Cambridge, MA for two years before moving to her home state of New Jersey to be closer to family and continue her veterinary career.
Dr. Elia has always had a passion for integrative medicine which led her to pursue her Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi Institute in 2012. From 2011 -2018 she worked in a busy, 3.5 doctor, small animal general practice, first as an associate and then promoted to Chief of Staff, combining her knowledge of acupuncture and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine with her Western veterinary education.
In 2018, after the birth of their second child, she and her husband decided it was time to head back to Buckeye country and they moved back to the Columbus area.
Since moving back to Ohio in 2018, Dr. Elia started her own veterinary relief and mobile acupuncture business and enjoys providing these services to veterinary hospitals and patients in the Greater Columbus area.
Dr. Yao pursued her passion for animals by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Ohio State University in 2015. With a lifelong love for animals, she followed her heart into veterinary medicine, graduating from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.
Dr. Yao's journey into veterinary medicine began after graduation, where she has been working at a small animal general practice in Columbus, committed to enhancing the lives of pets and their families ever since. Drawing from her cultural background, Dr. Yao recognizes the benefit of incorporating acupuncture and integrative medicine into managing diseases, leading her to pursue a certificate in veterinary acupuncture.
At home, Dr. Yao shares her life with a lively bunch of pets. She has two adorable dogs, Molly, a Labrador Retriever, and Millie, a Golden Retriever, who bring endless joy to her life. Additionally, she has welcomed two loving cats, Soso and Taozi, into her family, both adopted from the local shelter.
Beyond her professional life, Dr. Yao treasures spending quality time with her husband and beloved animals. She also enjoys exploring new destinations through travel adventures.

Dr. Elia is constantly learning and expanding her education. In the Fall of 2020 she completed an intensive four-month integrative veterinary pain management course. She also completed her Palliative and End-of-Life Care certification course in August of 2022.
In her spare time, Dr. Elia enjoys staying fit, traveling, cooking and baking, and spending time with her husband and young kids. Her family recently added a Cavalier King Charles puppy to their family named S'mores who is a cutie and adored by all who meet her!
